Available Older Dogs & Value Added Puppies

On occasion Goldnote Golden Retrievers will have an older dog available for adoption.  These older dogs may be retiring dogs or what we call “Value Added Puppies”.

1 Year Old Dogs – Presently We Are Accepting Inquiries for Older Dogs – March 26, 2024.

We are currently considering excellent homes for one year old dogs. We have been “growing out” dogs to become part of the breeding program. Recently though I have decided to place two one year old dogs into forever homes in favour of keeping their brother or sister for the breeding program. We are looking for a forever home for each of them, not one home for both of them.

Over the years, we have moved towards a more holistic and natural approach to caring for our dogs. We now recommend limited vaccines, natural approaches to flea, tick and heartworm prevention where possible. A firm commitment to nutrition is critical when we place our older dogs. These dogs could be changed to kibble from a full raw diet, BUT a slow and patient transition would be required by their new families.

If you would like to be considered as a home for one of these dogs please complete a contact form.

Retired Stud Dog – Whistler Has Found A Forever Home

Whistler has found a forever home. Whistler will be summering at the family cottage in Muskoka. Of course he will be spoiled year round by his new family who are a long time Golden family.  A semi-retired couple have taken Whister and are looking forward to his affectionate manner and companionship that will also keep them active with long walks and retriever games.

Whistler is a 6.5 year old neutered male Golden Retriever. He is now retired as a stud dog and needs a loving forever home. Whistler has stolen the hearts of family after family who have visited with us over the years. Whistler is father to four lovely litters, so he has charmed many families with his exceptional good looks and affectionate disposition. Whistler is happy as a house dog, is fully house trained, walks nicely on a leash, loves retriever games and walks in our fields. Whistler is not suited to dog parks or doggie day care settings though, so please bear this in mind when considering Whistler as an addition to your home. Please contact us for further details about Whistler.

Trained Golden Retriever

English Golden Retriever - Brogan - 21 Months - Horizontal

Trained Golden Retriever

Brogan is a 23 month old neutered and trained Golden Retriever. Brogan has been placed in his forever home! We do occasionally have an older trained Golden Retriever though, feel free to email for details. You never know when another one comes available.

We are currently interviewing families to become his forever home. He has been extremely well socialized, is fully house trained, knows all his basic obedience commands and is happy in his crate too if its ever needed.

We are looking for a family who will embrace a training and transfer session with us to ensure that Brogan’s new beginning is as smooth as possible for him and his adoptive family.

Recently, while teaching I used Brogan in my Canine Good Neighbour Training class as the example dog, he would pass his certification test no problem!

Please contact us for further details or to be considered as a possible match for this most special boy!

Brogan has found his forever home! He will be leaving us this week. We are so pleased to have found him a great home in Barrie, Ontario. Lisa and Richard are a long time Golden family, this will be their third Golden Retriever. Their past dogs were very well trained Golden Retrievers, and certified therapy dogs. They will be pursuing this certification again with Brogan through the St. John Ambulance program. Lisa and Rich are so excited to be taking him home on Friday, so excited in fact that they came and visit him last night to help with the bonding process with him!

We do have trained Golden Retriever dogs and puppies come up from time to time so please feel free to contact us anytime for details.

Trained Golden Retriever Puppy

Trained Golden Retriever Puppy

This beautiful cream trained Golden Retriever Puppy is a serious cuddle bum.  Her early training has had her out on puppy socializing trips in town, had many car rides, social visits to the vet’s office, our training hall to meet people and other dogs, experience life and to begin her basic puppy training skills. She is fully crate trained, sleeps through the night and has had all of her puppy shots and de-worming.  Feel free to contact us for further details or to visit with us. THIS PUPPY HAS FOUND A FOREVER HOME. We do occasionally have older trained dogs or puppies though so feel free to email or call us just in case we have another one that is about to be ready and available for adoption.
